Jessica Gillman joins Environics Communications as Account Executive in Washington, DC, office

Washington, November 10, 2009 – Environics Communications, Inc. today announced that Jessica Gillman has joined the agency as an account executive in the Washington, DC, office.

Gillman comes to Environics from the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP), where her responsibilities included managing daily communications and media activities; planning and implementing press events, Capitol Hill and United Nations-related briefings; creating the CCAP newsletter; handling employee communications; and managing the CCAP Web site and social media campaign.

Prior to CCAP, Gillman was deputy press secretary for the Committee on Natural Resources in the U.S. House of Representatives. She also worked as a communications assistant at the National Governors Association.

"Jessica brings to Environics a strong skill set of understanding and promoting environmental issues and causes, as well as a working knowledge of the government at the federal, state and agency levels," said Environics' U.S. General Manager Dave Groobert. "She is a strong addition to our U.S. team, and will be involved in servicing clients in our Sustainability & Clean Energy Practice area, as well as consulting on other agency clients."

Gillman is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Smithsonian Young Benefactors, and she volunteers as a fundraiser for the D.C. area Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a dual degree in journalism and political science, and is currently working toward her master's degree in public relations and corporate communications at Georgetown University.
